Volunteering as Parish Rep

As a parish rep, you’ll be a point of contact for Pact within your parish: publicising events, ensuring posters and publications are visible and liaising with Pact’s Faith in Action team to raise awareness of what life is like for people affected by the criminal justice system and of the work of Pact.

This role is flexible and not onerous, but you will make an important contribution to help people to hear Jesus’ words ‘I was in prison, and you came to me…’ (Matt. 25:36) Our Faith in Action team will support you.

Why volunteer with Pact?

What happens next?

After you’ve filled in an application, our Faith in Action team will contact you for an informal chat. This is an opportunity for us to find out a bit more about you and your motivations for volunteering and for you to find out more about Pact and the role you’ve applied for to make sure it’s what you expected!

After this we’ll contact your Parish Priest to tell him about the role and explain that you would like to take it up. We hope this step in the process will give you confidence that your priest knows what you are doing and welcomes your efforts on behalf of prisoners and their families. Thereafter you’ll be welcomed onboard and invited to join the Pact Parish Rep Zoom meetings for coffee, prayer and information sharing.

Suggested Involvement

Pact hopes you will volunteer with us as Parish Rep for as long as you can, but we ask for a minimum commitment of least 6 months where possible from when you start.
